Following the announcement of Raquel Leviss’ split from James Kennedy on part one of the Vanderpump Rules reunion, Raquel decided to throw herself an un-engagement party. The pair announced their break-up in early December 2021 on Instagram, shortly after filming the reunion for VPR. The couple, who had been together for more than five years, says they both realized that while they still love each other, they are no longer in love.
Viewers saw Raquel and James Tuesday night confirm the end of their engagement after a tumultuous couple of years. Their relationship began to take a turn for the worst after James sent Raquel several rage texts messages two seasons ago. The spark in their relationship was slowly starting to fade, and Raquel and James, who shocked fans with their split, finally found it in them to pull the plug on this toxic relationship.
On January 25, Raquel threw a watch party for the Vanderpump Rules reunion with her close friends, where she had to relive the moment she told her castmates she and James were over. Raquel posted several snaps to her Instagram Stories, including one with her VPR costar Ariana Madix, while also sipping on cocktails with colorful phallic-shaped straws. Raquel later shared a snap to her grid of herself sipping on a glass of rosé using one of the yellow straws. “Penis straws ftw #unengagementparty,” the reality star wrote in her caption. Raquel, who updated fans on how she is doing post-split, and the cast spent the whole night on what looked to be a rooftop bar just for Raquel, the cast, and her friends. Raquel needed all the support she could get last night after reliving some harsh moments.
Within the first few minutes of the Vanderpump Rules reunion, Raquel and James opened up about the demise of their relationship and how they decided it would be best to split. At first, their costars were shocked by the sudden break-up, but after hearing Raquel’s side, they understood their decision. “I’ve been having nightmares about our wedding day,” Raquel admitted to the reunion host Andy Cohen. James, who could rekindle a romance with Lala Kent, also revealed a time when he asked Raquel if she believes he’s her soulmate. She replied by asking him if he believes she’s his soulmate. Ultimately, Raquel and James came to the conclusion that they weren’t each other soulmates and were no longer in love. The former couple also confessed that their sex life had been inconsistent for the last two years, which started when James texted Raquel a number of inappropriate messages.
Raquel is doing her best to move on from her relationship with James now that they are officially over. The “un-engagement” party was Raquel’s way of putting that chapter of her life behind her. Hopefully, their breakup doesn’t affect Raquel’s future on Vanderpump Rules.
