Getting the Bucket and Cross Trial Puzzle completed in Uncharted 4 is not much trouble, but it can take a while if players are not careful enough.

When it comes to puzzles, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has them in spades, with the first one players encounter in Chapter 9 being the Bucket and Cross Trial Puzzle. The puzzle is on the more manageable scale of them during the game, although for players trying to get Uncharted 4‘s speed run trophy, doing it fast and efficiently is essential. The puzzle in and of itself has a few steps to it, although it’s an excellent setup for other puzzles in future Chapters.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has made a comeback thanks to a few different revelations from developer Naughty Dog. The first is the release of the Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection, and the second is the upcoming release of the Uncharted Movie starring Tom Holland as Nathan Drake. The collection consists of two games i.e. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Both games also have elements making their way into the movie, such as Nathan’s brother Sam. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be the first title players will get to experience in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection.

Chapter 9 in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is where players will find the Bucket and Cross Trial Puzzle. Follow the straightforward path from the start of the chapter to the puzzle. The puzzle gets triggered when one of the brothers pushes a stone on the floor in a cut scene. After looking up at the puzzle, which has three different colored crosses, and a pulley system, go to the door on the left with a skeleton’s hand through a hole and pull it out. Next, take the bucket that has appeared from the puzzle and fill it in the nearby pool. Give the bucket to Sam, who places it, and three lights appear showing where to place the three crosses.

Fastest Way To Solve The Bucket & Cross Puzzle In Uncharted 4

Uncharted 4 Bucket And Cross with Sam and Nathan

The Bucket and Cross Trial Puzzle might look complicated in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, but it’s made effortless by looking at Nathan’s journal. Opening the journal will show what order the crosses should look like in the lights to complete the puzzle successfully. The black cross needs to go to the right, the larger one on the top, and the ornate one on the left. Each wheel can spin in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction, making life more complicated. For the puzzle, only counter-clockwise spins in this solution should get used. Of the four wheels, only the middle two will get used, which will be called left and right from now on, for simplicity’s sake. To solve the puzzle, spin the left one once, then the right one twice, the left one twice, then finally the right one once. Doing it in this order is the fastest way to complete the puzzle where once all three crosses are in the lights, pull the switch in the hole next to the door to continue.
