Grade school teachers deserve a metal, not for having to deal with kids, but for putting up with entitled parents all the time. One redditor recently explained how their sister assigned the following math problem to her 4th grade students: “Mary can swim at a rate of 2 meters per second. How long will it take her to swim to a raft 10 meters from shore?” Seems pretty standard and inoffensive, right? Well, one parent managed to get her feathers ruffled over systems of measurement, reminding the teacher in an email that “in America, we do not use the metric system.” The teacher maliciously complied in a follow-up email. Needless to say, OP’s post sparked a thread of math jokes and puns of metric proportions.
