There are seventeen different types of dog Villagers in Animal Crossing New Horizons, with many unique personality types to invite to the island.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has a myriad of Villagers that can make their home on any player’s island, but it’s entirely possible to have an island with residents who are all dog Villagers. There are 17 different dog Villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and there are nearly enough personality differences between them all to virtually have no repeats. Although it’ll be a challenge, players who are set on having all of their island’s Villager be dogs can do so with a bit of time and patience in Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Only 10 villagers can live on an island at a time in Animal Crossing: New Horizons and players can be lucky enough to start with at least one dog resident. Suppose either of the starting Animal Crossing: New Horizon Villagers isn’t a dog or specifically one of the dog Villagers that players want. In that case, they will have to patiently wait several days before the villagers think about leaving the island. After several days have passed, any Villager that has been ignored will have a thought bubble over their head as they move around the island, allowing players to encourage the resident to move off the island the next day.

Dog Villagers are among the most common species of Villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but it can still be challenging to find enough of them to fill the entire island full of them. Most players will find that buying Nook Miles tickets in ACNH to visit deserted islands will be the easiest way to meet new dog Villagers or at least the method that requires no additional cost. Animal Crossing: New Horizon Amiibos can be used to invite a new dog Villager to the island, even if the island is full. Players who have their ACNH island at maximum capacity can ultimately force an islander to move by using an Amiibo.

For players using Amiibos to get their desired dog Villager, connect the Amiibo to the Nintendo Switch to allow the character to be a camper. After fulfilling their requests, the Amiibo villager will promptly accept the offer to move in, but they will have to negotiate with another Villager before moving in if the island is at capacity. Fortunately, players can choose the Animal Crossing: New Horizon Villager, who will be negotiated with, assuring that they’ll have their new dog Villager and keep all of their previously acquired ones at the same time.
