Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino’s Son Romeo Turns 8 Months

Romeo Reign, son of Jersey Shore’s Mike “The Situation” and Lauren, celebrates his 8-month birthday. Being parents is a dream come true for the two.

Romeo Reign, son of Jersey Shore‘s Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino and wife Lauren, is growing up fast as he celebrates eight months in this world. Born in May 2021, Romeo joins the children of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Deena Nicole Cortese and several others in the next generation of future fist-pumpers. For Mike and Lauren, who suffered a devastating miscarriage in 2019, being the parents of Romeo and watching him grow is a dream come true. Therefore, it’s no surprise that Mike makes sure to chronicle milestones both big and small.

On the current season of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, viewers watched in suspense as, directly after Romeo’s birth, he was taken to the NICU because he spiked a fever. It was a gut-wrenching two weeks for Mike and Lauren, who feared for their son’s life and desperately wanted to bring him home. Finally, they were able to. So far, parenting is suiting the couple just fine. Mike is already passing on Sorrentino family traditions, such as hosing down the driveway, and “Baby Sitch” seems to be enjoying his life so far. Anytime Romeo appears on TV or social media, his face is full of wonder, joy and sometimes, adorable judgement.

Recently, Mike took to Instagram to mark an exciting moment in Romeo’s life – “Baby Sitch” is officially eight months old. The photo shared by Mike shows Romeo sitting in his highchair while rocking a blue Toy Story onesie. In his caption, Mike included a sad face emoji, which is proof that Romeo is growing up too fast for his father’s liking. Jersey Shore castmate Deena, who has two young sons – Christopher John and Cameron Theo Buckner – commented, “Cutie,” with two red heart emojis. Nikki Hall, girlfriend of Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, said, “Papacito,” with three heart-eye emojis.

Mike’s fanbase flooded the post’s comment section with hilarious captions of what Romeo might be thinking. Some felt he’s already taking after Mike, aka “Big Daddy Sitch,” when it comes to his passion for food. One said, “Romeo’s expression – Maaa, you got my chicken tendies?” A second read, “He just saw a girl do the Jersey turnpike,” to which someone replied, “Romeo is sure going to do GTL just like his dad.” This stands for “gym, tan, laundry,” the life motto of Mike, Pauly, Vinny Guadagnino and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro in their early Jersey Shore days. Another follower commented, “It looks like he’s saying, ‘In Secaucus?!,'” which Mike exclaimed when Ronnie said he got jumped in this New Jersey town to cover up injuries from ex-girlfriend Jen Harley. Romeo was also compared to Boss Baby several times.

Though fans’ opinions vary on what Romeo was thinking when the photo was captured, they were largely in agreement that they can’t wait to see him start walking, talking and forming his own unique personality. Given his already-expressive face, not to mention the time spent with his crazy Jersey Shore family, it’s likely that Romeo will be a happy and humorous kid who might grow to give Uncle Pauly a run for his money in the comedy department. This would probably give Mike and Lauren, who have endured their share of heartache over the years, much joy.
