Miesha Tate’s UFC Career Explained

Everything to know about UFC star Miesha Tate, who’ll be competing on Celebrity Big Brother 3 in 2022. Check out Miesha’s MMA track record and more.

Miesha Tate is entering the Celebrity Big Brother 3 house as a very well-accomplished mixed martial artist who is currently in the no. 8 position in the UFC women’s bantamweight rankings. There’s always an expectation from fans that athletes will be competition beasts on Big Brother. That doesn’t always turn out to be true on the show, but it is certainly scary for a regular player to think that he or she is facing a well-accomplished athlete in a particular competition.

Notable athletes that entered the Big Brother house with a competitive edge include soccer player Cody Calafiore, football players Kaycee Clark and Jeff Schroeder, Tae Kwon Do medalist Natalie Martinez, mixed martial arts fighter Russell Kairouz, baseball coach Corey Brooks, and bodybuilder Jessie Godderz, to name a few. With the CBS announcement of the CBB3 cast, it has now been revealed that one of the top stars in the UFC league will now be competing on the show. Right away, fans are eager to learn more about Miesha before she enters the Celebrity Big Brother house.

As described by her profile with UFC, Miesha Tate is 34 years old and comes from Tacoma, WA. Her nickname as an athlete is “Cupcake.” When it comes to fighting, she is a 5’5″ grappler who weighs 135 lbs. Miesha’s reach is 65 inches and her leg reach is 37 inches. Overall, Miesha’s track record in the UFC includes four wins by knockout, seven wins by submission, and eight wins by decision. Right now, Miesha is in eighth place in the top 15 for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Rankings. In the ranking, she is behind UFC superstars such as Amanda Nunes, Holly Holm, Irene Aldana, Aspen Ladd, and Ketlen Vieira.

There’s no denying that former Big Brother players and viewers are expecting a lot from Miesha on CBB3. Aside from her history with UFC, Miesha’s mixed martial arts (MMA) track record includes 19 wins – including four by knockout – and eight losses (via Sherdog). As far as her personal life goes, Miesha got married to fellow MMA fighter Johnny Nuñez in 2018 and they have welcomed two kids together: daughter Amaia Nevaeh and son Daxton Wylder. The couple lives in Las Vegas, NV. In November 2021, Miesha shared an Instagram post of her birthing their second child at home.

If Miesha brings her competitiveness from the world of UFC and mixed martial arts, her costars will be facing a formidable competitor on CBB3. Her nickname might be “Cupcake,” but there is no denying that Miesha is a force to be reckoned with the potential to dominate the physical comps on Celebrity Big Brother. As usual, fans should “expect the unexpected” when it comes to the game of Big Brother.
